Subject: ETERNITY
Hello everybody!

What do you think about the new album? This is my opinions:

Best song: Shadow side of me
Most potential for being hits: When tomorrow comes and Sweetest surprise
Worst song: You want more or Look around

I really like the first version of Respirator from Jaschas soloalbum Planet blue better than the new version called Walk with me on Eternity. I miss the female voice and the dreamy mood.

Being a Eurovision fan I´m not surprised that they do a cover version (from a Latvian duo)of The war is not over. The surprise is that it sounds exactly like the original (songwise too) Maybe they could have done something different with it?

Songranking:

1. shadow side of me
2. Sweetest surprise
3. It´s gonna make sense
4. When tomorrow comes
5. Family tree
6. I do
7. Walk with me
8. Lonely satellite
9. The war is not over
10. Eternity
11. You want more
12. Look around

Best wishes!
Robert, Sweden.

Hi Robert,

We already have a few reviews on another thread. If you have missed them, please go through them again...here is the link:

            http://www.mltr-universe.dk/Forum/forum…?req=thread&…

I would rate the song Look Around higher than you perceive it to be, simply because it is on a different theme- how much stuck up on the internet the modern generation has become. We, with all our messed-up lives, take asylum in the portals of the internet, in an endeavour to escape the harsh realities of life, and this song is just about perfect for me in describing the situation:

"There's a palce in electrical weather...
                           Shining ******** lights inside
                           Reaching out in digital voices
                           everything is waiting there..."

It is clear that Jascha, more specifically, is making fun of people's search for romance on the internet and hence, i would interpret this to be a reference to internet dating and networking sites:

" Her rushing in and checking it out
Nobody told you that she has gone..."

The vocoder effect in the voice also seems relevant since the subject matter of the song itself concerns the "digital" and "electrical weather" of the cyber world.

I also like this version of Respirator better than the one on Planet Blue, because this is more pacy and is accompanied by a forceful drum-beat, and hence the words register better in my mind with this version

One thing is however very obvious to me- the songs do not impress much on the first hearing, rather they keep growing on me as i listen to them again and again.

My personal Songranking:

1. Lonely satellite
2. Shadow Side of Me
3. It´s Gonna Make Sense
4. When Tomorrow Comes
5. Family tree
6. Sweetest Surprise
7. Look around
8. The War Is Not Over
9. Walk with me
10. I Do
11. You want more
12. Eternity

Thanks Asiman!

I agree the songs grow on you.

I dont really like the way they try to mix Kraftwerk with Scissors sister on Look around. I listened to a lott of electronic pop in my days and don´t think MLTR should get to involved in that kind of music. The refrain sounds very Scissors sister or Bee gees and that is no favourite bands of mine.

I am still very disappointed they did not put "One world one dream" on the album because I think that is a very good song

Best wishes!

Robert

Hey there Robert,

I must admit I havn't heard a lot of western music except for MLTR and Westlife, so I wasnt really aware of the electronic pop, and i acknowledge your awareness of that. I got introduced to western through Westlife but MLTR is the band that made me a crazy fan for the first time so much so that i listen to MLTR almost all the time.

By the way, I agree with you that it is really disappointing they didnt put One World One Dream on this album. Infact i was under the impression that the song was going to be released in the new album. Too bad it wasnt :-(

Best Wishes,
Asiman

Subject: Hi again
I like Westlife too but MLTR is in a leauge of their own. They are in fact a real band that writes and plays their own music. Westlife has written their own songs only occasionally and as I know never played the instruments.

The problem for us europeans is that MLTR sometimes releases material only in Asia so it´s hard to find it here. As for an example "One world one dream" is only released in China on some new vrsion of the live bet of record. I dont understand anything of Chinese text so therefore I haven´t been able to find the record on the net. I hate that. It could have been so much easier if they had included the song on "Eternity". You cant buy it on download on the official MLTR site either and for me that is very strange.

Best wishes!

Robert,Sweden.

Hi Robert,

MLTR is definitely in a league of their own...their music is unique and the style is original even though the band themselves might pretend to be modest and claim their influences to be the bands of the '70s n '80s. I would like to describe their work to be traditional melodic catchy tunes and meaningful lyrics coupled with the sound of rock instruments. So that doesnt make them a rock band nor dos it make them a band like Westlife where the rock instruments are almost absent. I'm hoping you'll agree :-)

And i can understand your anguish over MLTR's practice of releasing only in Asia, but believe me they seem to even by0pass India many times, and it is frustrating...there is no news yet of Eternity's release in India :-(
